My fantasy work

 Hi readers, happy Friday!.

So for Mr shaws literacy we were learning about the cliches in a fantasy movie, and all the typical things normally shown in fantasy. Such as big, old, maybe even “mid evil” looking castles. Fairy’s and princesses, queens, kings, princes and normally magical enchanted forests with crystals and such. I think you get the idea. So our assignment was to choose a fantasy movie and point out the cliches in it. I chose maleficent because growing up this was one of my favourite movies, anyways maleficent has fantasy cliches everywhere, such as it is the re-imaging of the fairy tail sleeping beauty, there are fairy’s and enchanted forests and of course, castles. And the second task we had to do for this was create a character that would fit into your chosen movie. 

So here is my slide I did explaining all about my “new” character in maleficent

Double decker brownies

Over this past term for Mr shaws maths group we have been learning and discussing measurement. So for our project we created a double Decker brownie because in baking we learn about measurements, so baking was a fun, but yet knowledgeable experience. If your wondering what it is it is a cookie dough base with chocolate brownie mixture on top. Created by caprice, Chanel and Holly. On a Wednesday afternoon we got given a project. We got given a egg, string, tape and 3 pieces of paper, our activity was to use those items and we had to build something to protect the egg for when it drops onto the ground. Our group: Leah, Riley, Macy and emmelia. This is what ours looked like:

Turns out it didnt work and it broke only one team survived.

Music changing throughout the decades

For our inquiry we have been learning about how music has changed throughout the years/ decades. Our task was to choose a decade and choose a song from that decade and research about it and our song we chose was "here comes the sun" by the Beatles (our year was 1960s This google slide was made by Holly K, Cara S, Katie W and Alex A. Hi, this post is about what we have been doing at maths. We got a question that we had to solve, then we made a animation explaining the problem and how we solved it.

Saying the weather in maori on scratch

 In toroa hub we had to create a project on scratch, it was based on saying the weather in Maori. I had my character say to my other character "kei te pehete te ahua o te" and then my other character replied and said "kei te pehete te ahua o te rangi " 

At first scratch was very difficult to understand but then once I learned how to use it, it started to make a lot more sense. I did my work but I accidentally pressed the wrong button and i deleted all of my work.
